Wedding Music *hearts* the U.S.A.

For this week's music mix compiled by Celebrity DJ guest contributor DJ Carl, {Williams} I requested something in honor of the historic Inauguration experienced by us all this past Tuesday. Regardless of your vote, we must all support the future, our leaders and our troops--

I would also like to dedicate this to my military couples for which I have shared the honor with you in creating a military worthy and appropriate wedding. My team is grateful to you for your dedication, commitment, soul and heart to our country and your families.
Carl shares my sentiment...

"This mix celebrates the historic inauguration of Barack Obama. The inspirational songs were chosen from the 70s to today that depicts the revitalized atmosphere that was celebrated by millions of Americans in Washington, D.C. and now around the world. I hope that many of the songs will maintain the sense of pride in you that I have to be an American citizen."

This music mix, I am confident, will renew your spirit and inspire you for great music in the overall experience you wish to design for yourself.

You can listen to Carl's Inauguration Mix for America click *here.* It includes:

(1) America the Beautiful by Ray Charles
(2) At Last by Beyonce

Inauguration Fashion; Coming to a Wedding Near You??

Today's remarkable Inauguration of our 44th President-Barack Obama left many of us in awe and inspired. For so many reasons...
Politics aside, I admitted to friends today that while definitely "in the moment" witnessing history, I simply could not keep my eyes off of the fashion!
Mrs. Obama has drawn a breath of fresh air into Washington with her bold and daring choices of colors and textures for both herself and her lovely daughters. Perhaps even more inspiring--her choice of designers were equally as bold and tangible.
Her children, Malia and Sasha were dressed in periwinkle and pink coats, respectively, from Crewcuts by J.Crew.
For the Inauguration our new first lady wore a sheath dress and matching coat by lesser-known Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo. The color, described as lemongrass offered fresh and accessible perspective while pairing it with green J.Crew gloves and Jimmy Choo shoes.
For the evening's traditional and formal balls, Michelle Obama celebrated her husband Barack Obama's Inauguration in a dazzling white, one-shouldered Jason Wu gown.
And for our new Commander in Chief? The president hit the town in a custom tuxedo made by Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx.
As I sit back and reflect on the day's regalia, pomp and circumstance I feel compelled to wonder, "Inauguration fashion...coming to a wedding near you??"
I expect we will begin to see the courageous use of colors ad textures as we have seen today in wedding fashion for brides, grooms, children, attendants and parents alike.
God Bless America!

Celebrity DJ, DJ Carl: Guest Blog Contributor

Over the years I have had several tremendous opportunities to work with good friend and colleague Carl Williams of DJ Carl Entertainment
From our very first introduction I knew their was this "compatability." We shared the same passion for our work and for designing and delivering experiences for our clients to remember for a liftime.
Always the trailblazer, Carl has now taken his craft to the next level. Having done the very first "Down the Aisle" show with me in Orlando and then again this past summer in Denver he began creating music mixes. This has been so incredibly well-received {and requested!} that Carl has agreed to share his expertise with my readers for further music inspiration.
His first presented music mix for "In My Shoes" was a request I had for dinner music. Enjoy!

Lisa,

Here are five songs that provide a nice balance of an "old & new music sound" to compliment the variety of ages of people who typically attend a wedding. These are songs that I would play during dinner for a twenty-some couple who have their parents and grandparents in attendance. These songs would appeal to a nice variety of ages.

Wonderwall by Paul Anka

You Sang to Me by Marc Anthony

Got to Give It Up by Urban Knights

2009 Greetings!

2008 was a momentous year for so many reasons...

E Events had another year of highly styled, gracious and loving weddings that we had the great fortune to produce, we brought our baby, "Down the Aisle" to Denver, Colorado, nurtured our satellite office in Sarasota and relocated our office to our swank boutique studio in Winter Park, Fl.

2009 already boasts the same great fortune and we have some special plans on the back-burner. Down the Aisle will continue to travel and grow, we have weddings that will take us out of the US and a new "baby" will be born...{Literally and figuratively!} A new, special project for Lisa and for Brittany...

You can all expect a beautiful baby for her and Sam!!! I know that all of you who know Brittany, realizes she will be the most chic, pregnant woman we have ever seen, and I can't wait to see her working those weddings with the baby-belly! Selfishly, I am eagerly awaiting a bundle of joy to hold, snuggle and love...

Jessy continues to augment her creativity and aptitude. She has been such an incredible blessing and enhancement to our tight-knit family, and I feel extremely fortunate to have her on board.

Running the show in Sarasota and Southwest Florida is Nancy who never fails to deliver. She has forged incredible professional relationships out there, manages her weddings and STILL comes to Orlando when we just can't do it without her. {That's pretty often!} Nancy has been right next to me since the day I started E Events and none of our overall prosperity would ever be possible without her--

A lover of quotes, I would like to share a profound one that resonates with me:

William Ellery Channing
I will seek elegance rather than luxury, refinement rather than fashion. I will seek to be worthy more than respectable, wealthy and not rich. I will study hard, think quietly, talk gently, and act frankly. I will listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with an open heart. I will bear all things cheerfully, do all things bravely await occasions and hurry never. In a word I will let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common.

Likewise, I love to laugh...{Remember to ALWAYS laugh!}

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.

Nancy, Brittany, Jessy and I wish you the most fun and love-filled, prosperous and "swell" 2009!
