UNBRIDLED: My favorite wedding friends like...Ian Prosser!

In the past year, I have learned that there is never a dull moment when floral ingenue, Ian Prosser is around!
Ian is not only well known in the industry; he is also highly recognized and acclaimed by his industry peers not only in his current hometown of Tampa, Florida, but across the country and abroad.
Knowing this was a talent that I needed to personally experience; I recruited {okay—perhaps I begged!} Ian for last year’s production of “Down the Aisle” at the brand new Ritz Carlton property in downtown Denver.
Of course, I was not let down and our guests were overwhelmed with his creations! I’m thrilled that we have shared clients and projects on the horizon—the best is yet to come!
Ian’s accolades are endless, and I encourage you to literally scour Botanica’s website to learn and be inspired.
For now, revel in learning all the fun and behind the scene tid-bits on one of this industry’s finest professionals…

Itching to work with: Coco Chanel if she were still alive today because she had such a
tremendous sense of style.
Fashion Obsessions: European Shoes - Europe is much more ahead of the fashion curve!
Beauty Must-Haves: Hair wax - flat hair is NOT pretty
Office/Work Must-Haves: I'm a paper snob, the weight of paper used says a lot about a person - so the heavy the paper the better!
Speed Dialing: My wife, Fiona.
Can't get enough of: Interior Design Magazines - they are a constant source of inspiration.
Jonesing to: take a trip to Thailand to see the orchid farms
Current work project: Developing our new Orlando office
Current personal project: Restyling my home garden for the fall
Necessary Extravagance: First Class travel!! Not only am I a paper snob, but I'm also a travel snob
If I weren't a florist I would: be a clothing designer
In my bag: a measuring tape, florist wire, florist tape and of course, my blackberry.
Recent discovery: The new Acropolis Greek Restaurant near my house, SUCH great food!
Craving: Chocolate

*** Fun, fearless and frivolous flashbacks…***

1. Denver in a Kilt with Austin Scarlett
2. Receiving the "Austin" t-shirt at the Halloween t-shirt party... very funny... :)
3. When we had dinner on the sidewalk at Spice with a client and a car filled with drunken girls asked me to bum a cigarette from someone for them three tables down.

UNBRIDLED: My favorite wedding friends like...Kristy Chenell!

As promised, my new blog-series "Unbridled" officially launches with my first guest/friend, Kristy Chenell.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of these wedding industry Q&A's and in-depth interviews.
Let's get to the nitty-gritty questions "E Events" style, shall we...?

I know Kristy Chenell as an energetic leader, salesperson, entrepreneur and friend. Most of us know what a consummate professional she is. For those of you who don't, {and who are you??} Kristy is a Wedding Business Consultant and owner of Couture Consulting by Chenell, and one of the leading experts in the wedding industry. She speaks and hosts intimate wedding business workshops around the country, focusing on the importance of brand recognition and protection in relation to all aspects of business: marketing, sales, customer experience, and financial acumen.
Kristy’s experience ranges from Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings to The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where she was one of six people in the country to sit on The Ritz-Carlton Corporate Wedding Advisory Board. She was intricately involved with both corporations wedding websites and understands the significance of highly regarded branded weddings.

Now I want us all to know the REAL Kristy...
Here 'ya go:

Itching to work with: You again :)

Fashion Obsessions: Ruffles, Bows, and Pearls. Bet you couldn’t guess that one.

Beauty must-haves: Sunscreen and Lip Gloss

Office/Work must haves: my Dalmatian, Ellie, at my feet, a lit candle, and an old piece of crumply paper that reads:

“I only surround myself with people who can do the impossible.”
by Elizabeth Arden (has travelled to many offices with me!)

Speed dialing: Scott, my husband. Seriously…what would I do without him?

Can’t get enough of: Twilight…well, I should say Edward. I recently asked Scott if he thinks he could get his hair to do that. Yum!

Jonesing to: go back to Europe. No computer, no cell phone, no communication except for thinking we’re ordering steak when it’s really cow brains.

Current work project:
The Wedding Summit: Orlando! A very intimate, hands-on wedding business workshop – www.theweddingsummit.com. You walk away with a clear brand and how to use it to your EVERY advantage out there! An investment not to be overlooked.

Oh, and writing a book with the Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton,
Denver. Website and blog to be revealed soon!

Current personal project: Learning to mountain bike – on really big mountains – Yikes.

Necessary extravagance: Fresh food. Organic dairy and meat products.

If I weren’t a consultant I would: be a professional waterskiier. Oh, yeah – that’s making the big bucks.

• In my bag: Orbitz vanilla mint, bobby pins, cherry lip gloss, and a power bar – sometimes the wallet is in there and sometimes its not. I switch purses quite a bit and have a slight tendency to forget that little detail :). That’s not good as I get carded everywhere.

Recent discovery: That life is not about how many outfits hang in your closet, how fancy your car is, or how big your diamond is. It’s about making the pictures that hang on your wall…not buying them.

Oh, and that if you fly Southwest and need to change your flight, as long as there is no difference in price they only charge you $2.50 – no matter the day or time!

Craving: lavender chocolate. It’s romantic and relaxing. OK, time for me to speed dial Scott… :)

*Fun, fearless and frivolous flashbacks*
{Please share 3 personal memories between you and I}
1. Looking at each other right before taking the stage at Down the Aisle: Orlando and knowing we were about to make it one of the best nights of our lives.
2. Screaming on the phone with you when we found out Austin Scarlett wanted to work with us.
3. The moment I saw you in Denver. It was like a piece of home had arrived and you brought tears to my eyes. I was so excited to work with you again. What an intricate role you have had in my endeavors and I am so grateful to know you.

Just Another Couple of Days in the {Denver} Office

Okay...I think I may have officially come out of my "summer coma" and I'm back and ready!
There is no doubt that styling, producing and coordinating "Down the Aisle" in Denver was hard work. The refreshingly unexpected part was that we all managed to have a wonderful time working AND playing...It was great fun {and great relief!}to greet everyone as they arrived to The Ritz Carlton, Denver despite some travel delays-
Even one of my dearest and best girlfriends Michele tagged along to not only support her main fella', Jeffrey but toil along with the rest of us on those many "unglamorous" tasks that need to be accomplished.
I promise pictures of the actual evening are forthcoming on our blog, but if you simply cannot wait, you should definitely check out Garrett's blog as he was the gate-keeper to all of the "fancy" shots.
Fancy-Schmancy!
I managed to hone in some mad photography skills of my own as did Jeffrey, Awny and Brittany.
With that in mind, you'll see what just another couple of days in the office yielded in Colorado. Looking back, it's amazing we ever pulled off the show!
Thanks to Jeffrey for putting this fun piece together for us to enjoy!

Luck Comes in Three's: THIRD Announcement

Pinch me please as the luck seems to keep on coming!

The (well beyond I could have ever hoped for!) wildly successful event that I partnered and produced with The Ritz Carlton, "Down the Aisle" is heading to Denver, Colorado!!!

I am especially excited to have many of the same ingenues that made the event what it was last year including Austin Scarlett, lead designer and creative director for Kenneth Pool. We are using his designs exclusively this year and The Ritz Carlton Denver and I welcome him back to "Down the Aisle" with great enthusiasm.

How does one thank the talented people that helped me last year who didn't even think twice or blink an eye about supporting me once again on the other side of the country? I will tell you Kristy, Jeffrey, Awny, Carl and Lindsey: It is my personal mission to find out how--

Added to the roster this year: Garrett Nudd, Ryan Joseph and Ian Prosser!!!

The sweet faces above you may even recognize!

The show is scheduled for July 9, 2008 at The Ritz Carlton Denver. Creative, thoughtful and enticing plans are already underway and this is a great time indeed.

I wish you could all come and make it, but seats are definitely more limited at this property. If not, you know I am always eager to share...

Below, please enjoy viewing the video artfully produced by Jeffrey Stoner that opened the show last year. It truly grabbed our guests' attention within the first minutes of taking their seats and held their attention all night long...

Finally, you can experience "Down the Aisle" as if you were a guest last year! This video was compiled from those nail-biting hours prior to the show up until the very end...
