Celebrate: Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco (!) fun ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Uno: This holiday wouldn't be complete without the perfect margarita! My favorite girlfriends at Glitter Guide offer us 2 recipes for the price of one...Love the rosemary garnish!
Dos: Guacamole! Everyone has terra cotta pots somewhere, don't they? I love this idea of serving my personal favorite food item for Cinco de Mayo this way...
Tres: A Piñata! If you don't have access to fresh floral like this, {or let's face it, the budget!} you can achieve this same look by making paper cones around the sphere in place of the floral. Just be sure to be bold and use bright "Cinco" colors!
Cuatro: Canned Centerpieces?? Well, sort of! Admittedly, I scrambled and made a bunch of recipes last week in need of canned tomatoes, but you can see why! I love the whimsy that the cans, which serve as vases, offers to the overall look. This was great inspiration found on HGTV.
Cinco: Por favor! A favor, that it! If you are entertaining, this is an adorable and affordable way to send them home with fun memories from your Cinco soiree. Succulent plants are so popular and easy to care for:
Felicidades!! xx, LS

Bits and Pieces: Derby Style!

While my experiences with horses may be limited to my summer camps of yesteryear experiences, you must all know by now that I require no rationalism when the opportunity for entertaining presents itself, and the annual Kentucky Derby is certainly no exception! How about a little inspiration?

A little style and savoir faire for the gentlemen? Not to worry!

And my personal favorite for the perfectly appointed chapeau, ladies!

Finally, if the celebration is just too goo to break away from, {and I suspect it will be!} then yes, "there's an app for that!"

Now, you're all set to raise your mint julep cup, and enjoy that fastest two minutes in sports!
 Cheers! xx, LS

Cheers! Peach Jalapeño Margaritas and Georgia Tech

For those of you who caught my post on Facebook and Instagram yesterday, celebrating my daughter's acceptance and financial awards to Georgia Tech, I posted this picture of this scrumptious each jalapeño recipe, which is courtesy of Dessert for Two, and promised the recipe...Here it is!
Yields 2 cocktails : www.DessertForTwo.com Ingredients For the jalapeño simple syrup: ½ cup sugar ½ cup water ½ of a fresh jalapeno, sliced in half For the margaritas: 2 ripe peaches, pitted and diced 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice ¼ cup jalapeño simple syrup 1-2 shots of silver tequila optional: extra lime juice for the rim of the glass salt or sugar for the rim of the glass Instructions First, make the simple syrup: in a small saucepan combine the sugar, water and jalapeño. Bring to a simmer while smashing the jalapeño with a wooden spoon to extract the flavor. Once it boils, remove from heat and let cool completely. Transfer to a container and chill in the fridge until ready to use. To make the margaritas: blend the diced peaches, lime juice, ¼ cup of the jalapeño simple syrup, and tequila in a blender. Add a handful of ice cubes and blend until slushy. Enjoy garnished with lime and jalapeño slices. Cheers, friends! xx, LS

Supper Club Inspiration at The Waldorf Astoria, Orlando

This event was such an incredible joy to plan for me!
*Invitations, and Event Stationery by The 2u Collection* Working with my client,{the husband} this was a surprise celebration in honor of his 40th wedding anniversary, and truly no detail was spared! We even mailed a fake wedding invitation to his wife to get her to the Waldorf Astoria! {Tricksters we were!}
My inspiration was a supper club energy, much like you would have seen in the 1970's when they were married, and I became enamored with this look! I requested some original photos from their wedding to further inspire me, and had these wonderful replications of their wedding cake and her bridal bouquet displayed.
Adding to the nostalgia of the era, we also secretly commissioned none other than Tony Orlando himself to perform! {Now you KNOW I requested "Tie A Yellow Ribbon," right?!} Mr. Orlando was so incredibly gracious an utmost gentleman and charismatic performer. Yes, the crowd went wild!
I partnered with Raining Roses Productions with the floral and stage design, and everything from the stage set to the mirrored-top banquette tables were custom designed just for this inspiring and loving couple.
Ricky Sylvia with The Buzzcatz got the crowd in the perfect, celebratory mood and introduced Tony Orlando!
I even snuck in a dance at the end of the evening with the Mister!
