Noteworthy Wedding Vendors- Jensey Root !

"In every job that must be done there is an element of fun" ~ Mary Poppins. You find the fun, and ...*SNAP* there's Jensey Root!

Jensey and I share a current passion {/er obsession!} for all things Disney, so I could not resist applying this quote to introduce her Q&A.

The fact that she {along with dashing hubby, Nathan Root} is an amazing photographer, marketing guru and blogger is one thing, but her sweet personality and loveable demeanor make her quite another.

My professional relationship with Root Photography will take us to The Abacos, Bahamas in December for a rustic-vintage wedding, and if you checked out any of my elopement images, then you have seen the genius there already ... My personal connection is pretty transparent. Once you get to know Jensey, you can't shake her. Jensey and Nathan are now family, and "Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten." ~Lilo and Stitch

Ladies and Gentlemen: Mrs. Jensey Root!

Itching to work with: My amazing husband, Nathan Root! Seriously, though, even when we work with our favorite “friendors” in the industry, no one is better to work with than Nate. There’s no way I’d be doing this job if it didn’t mean spending 24 hours a day with that man! I know... I have a problem. ;)

Fashion Obsessions: I’ve always considered myself somewhat a fashion delinquent; I haven’t worn high heels since tumbling down the stairs at my high school graduation- True story! I do, however, love classic fashion and a good bow, so I tend to fall in love with Kate Spade all over again each season.

Beauty must-haves: My Clarisonic, Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, and MAC’s Lip Conditioner Stick SPF 15. :)

Office/Work must haves: A cute husband to do all the “hard” stuff- Taxes, client communication, etc. I’m also a strong believer in keeping an active blog for your wedding business- I try to update ours every Monday-Friday, and it really has been our greatest tool!

Speed dialing: My mommy!

Can’t get enough of: My adorable dog, Huckleberry Finn.

Jonesing to: Go to Disneyland next week!!! Eeeeeeeeek!!!

Current work project: NOTHING! For the first time in a year, I’m 100% caught up on all editing, album designs, and blog posts. It’s a “Festivus miracle!”

Current personal project: Buying our first home. :)

Necessary extravagance: Stationery! Most of my friends collect shoes; I, on the other hand, have over 150 sets of stationery! My life would be much less exciting if it weren’t for spontaneous letters and trinkets in the mail from my “pen pals!”

If I weren’t an amazing wedding photographer I would: Be a stay at home Mom.

In my bag: Honest to goodness, my bag is currently lying on the floor at my feet with my 7 pound dog sleeping in it. :)

Recent discovery: Did you know the plural of cul-de-sac is “culs-de-sac?” I didn’t, either.

Craving: A rainy morning cuddle with my love. <3

*Fun, fearless and frivolous flashbacks*

In no particular order :

- As perfect as your wedding was, I think I loved the relaxed “reception dinner” at Junior’s even more! I think that was the night we truly became “family.” :)

- When we bumped into Spiderman getting coffee!

- Playing Telestrations in pajamas with you, Jeffrey, and the girls in your hotel room on a rainy afternoon in NYC. <3

The fact that I am the first comment on this blog is a crime, because I know there are about a billion people helplessly in love with the Roots and Root Photography!!!! You are magical and to know you is to be jealous of how amazing you both are and how lucky you are that you are so talented at doing what you love :) Can't say enough good things about Root Photography or the Roots!!!!

Lisa, I love the quote you picked to start the post!! It perfectly describes the positive energy that Jensey carries throughout every aspect of her life! I'm one of the fortunate ones that can call her a dear friend, and you're right, she does make your life more fun! :)

I <3 this! Perfect intro quote. I love every little bit of insight into the minds of the masters. (And I'm secretly jealous that I'm not one of Jensey's many best friends -- I mean that as positively and not-weird-stalker-breathing-at-your-window-y as possible!)

I've known Jensey since middle school and that quote fits her to a "T". Thank goodness some people never change!

I love this post. You describe Jensey perfectly. I am a huge Roots fan, their photography is simply stunning.

We were blessed enough to run into Nate and Jensey last December in WDW and I was a babbling fool. I just couldn't believe they were there in front of us actually talking to us.

They are exactly like you think they would be sweet and kind. They are a beautiful couple full of fantastic personality.

I just have to throw in one more love note for Jensey girl. if you get close enough to Jensey, she'll change your life. I've never known someone who's been through so much and still chooses to not only put others first, but better the lives of those around her. I only had the pleasure of knowing her for about 6 months, but she changed my life more in that short amount of time than people I've known my whole life. It only fits that now she's in the job of putting people at ease and working for a living on the happiest days of people's lives. It truly is ”a jolly holiday” with Jensey! Love you, Jens.
