"Who's Wedding Is It Anyway...???!?"

Gotta love my good pal Garrett Nudd!

It's "ad-time" here again and I put out a message to Garrett for any worthy images he may have of some of my work worthy for a new ad campaign.

THIS (above) is what I got!!! Okay, this may not be the most appropriate way to market our mad skills, but this hilarious image is from our very own Brittany Sobering's wedding. Clearly, it highlights how Terri continually has my back! (Even of my hair!)

And by the way...

"WHO'S WEDDING IS IT ANYWAY?!?"

P.S.: To those of you have been so kind as to ask and to cheer lead...No! This is not a formal television appearance announcement! :)

Friday's Chic Style Sheet: February 22, 2008

I knew I had to make this week's entry a good one because I missed last week; shame!
I can chalk that up to an over-extended Brownie camping trip with Carolina and 11 other girls from her troop.

Wonderful Graffiti is an admitted obsession of mine. I first used this for a wedding back in September for the wedding of Megan and Michael. (An Officer, A Gentleman and Quite a Lady!) We used the interior typography with their customized monogram on large windows just outside of the ballroom and on glass blocks/shelving that was used on our aphrodisiac stations just before the ceremony.

An understandable, yet equally frustrating, rule of thumb when entering any hotel venue is the inability to "touch" the walls or ceiling with permanent holes, marks, etc. Wonderful Graffiti is a "wonderful" way to personalize your space in what could easily be an impersonal environment without proper care and design.

From the Wonderful Graffiti website:

"What are Wonderful Graffiti transfers made of?
Wonderful Graffiti is made of very, very thin pieces of vinyl. A light adhesive holds each vinyl piece firmly to most hard, smooth surfaces until you're ready to remove them. Vinyl makes Graffiti flexible, durable and washable. It's extreme thinness and matte finish make Wonderful Graffiti look as though it's been printed on your surface. (And not like vinyl at all.)"

This is so addicting! Browse thoroughly through their website and you will see for yourself. I am ordering something for a huge wall in my family room that I have not had any inspiration for in years...

And wouldn't a lovely quote be a lovely house-warming or anniversary gift?

p.s.: my absolute favorite is: "cocktails anyone?"

Cheers!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

To all of my engaged couples out there, my recently wed couples and to the couples who's happily ever after **may** begin tonight...
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I'm curious...how do you like to celebrate?

This question was recently posed to me and I had to admit that {gasp!} I wasn't all that into Valentine's Day. Of course the romantic gestures are always appreciated, however, having celebrated my 19th Valentine's Day with my sweetheart Marc, every day is like Valentine's Day. After all, that's one of the perks of finding your soul mate, right?!?

Marc really wanted to get together with friends this evening or do something "fancy," but...(I'd much rather snuggle!)

Feeling guilty, I recruited a friend to help figure out some "low-key" and "non-commercial" way to celebrate together.

I thought he came up with a marvelous idea for he and his sweetie; a motorcycle ride and a picninc! That sounded so nice and sincere to me which brought me searching for some accessories he could take along to hit this one out of the park!

These Steady Stick + Wine Holders from Red Envelope would be perfect! Their description and image make me want to plan a romantic picnic myself-

steady stick table + wine holders

Designed to stick in the ground, these accessories take the spills out of picnicking. Bamboo tabletop screws onto a stake. Heavy-gauge stainless-steel holders include four for glasses and one for a bottle.

five holders: four for wine or champagne glasses and one for the bottle
sticks measure 10"H
made of heavy-gauge, rust-resistant stainless steel
bottle holder accommodates bottles up to 3 3/4" in diameter
includes nylon carrying case for table
the table stake screws right onto the tabletop, then off again for compact storage
table measures 16" x 8" x 13"H

I hope the picnic works out for my dear friends!

And what are Marc and I doing tonight? You'll have to call or email to find out--

A Breath of Fresh Air: Brittany and Sam Sobering

Saturday was one of those made to order days...

The perfect couple, a perfect day, venue and team; it was all there. As I packed up my things to leave at the end of the evening, I took a deep breath and a few moments to recall all of the details that made it so-

First, the couple--The looks on their faces are genuine. I was so pleased to keep glancing over at them and seeing they were always in the moment. What you see there is what we all got: sheer joy.

Second, the venue-- John Beran and his team at The Ritz Carlton with my favorite captain Walter made sure every need was met for all guests and "preferred partners." :) Such attention to detail with customer service is always what exceeds expectations every time.

Third, the look: The decor was so fresh and stylish, perfectly reflecting the vision we all had in mind for Brittany and Sam. I knew we would hit a homerun when we enlisted Tommy Murphy with Greenery Productions. It's Tommy's job to ensure what we articulate in consultaions comes to life ont he big day, but I want to give a tremendous shout out to his army of designers and delivery crew who always seem to make the set-up and strike seamless.

Fourth, these images!!!! Good gravy Garrett, how do you do it? Shooting and hustling all day with us on Saturday, traveling on Sunday and turning these amazing snapshot moments over to me by Monday??!? I shall create an energy drink just for you...or how about just some yummy Mexican food?! :) You can all see the impeccable quality if these images for yoursleves: enough said there! I think these are the most images I have posted on one blog entry! Garrett and Joy: Thank you from the bottom of my heart; I don't know if it was more fun to work or hang out with you, but both were priceless--

Finally, (and what number am I up to anyway?!?)thanks to Terri for always having my back, Simone from Makeover Station for the absolutely flawless look she gave Brittany, Bake Me a Cake for the gorgeous and sweet cupcakes, Mark LeGrand for what I know will be an amazing video (and always making us all laugh) and of course the Solutions divas for their continued confidence and praise. (It was great seeing you ladies outside of the salon!)

The whole day was truly a breath if fresh air...

Friday's Chic Style Sheet: February 8th

We all know how I am a lover of the shoes, so I simply could not resist highlighting this fun cake server-

Always searching for something different to offer to our clients for their weddings, I also like to gift different tokens of thanks for gracious hostesses or special occasions.

Browsing the internet, I found this adorable cake server from Uncommon Goods, and this is how they describe this fabulous find:

"Slide this sexy server under your cake to formalize any event. This stunning stainless steel cake server has a magnetic "heel" on its handle that transforms this utensil into a size seven slide shoe. The heel comes off for serving and washing, but isn't everything a little bit sexier in a heel?"

Love it! I am hoping to serve some stylish cake at my next dinner party...

Brittany and Sam: Beauty and the...Injured???

I am feverishly looking forward to this Saturday's wedding of Brittany and Sam...

Brittany and I have actually known and worked togetehr for several years now as she has been my main go-to gal at (we all know it's my favorite!) Solutions Bridal.

The roles have been reversed for this true beauty and it's her turn to don the (Ramona Keveza) white dress and to be fussed over. (P.S.: I called that she would be wearing a Ramona years ago!!)

I do need to brag a bit about Brittany for a moment, however! She is indeed a true beauty; inside and out. I have never known her to be anything but "sunshine," poised, or to ever turn down a challenge. (Trust me, I feel I alone have put her through enough of those!)

This day is so well-deserved for Brittany and Sam. I know little, but enough of Sam to understand his true love for Brittany and the respect he has for his and her family. Now...for the injured part-- Sam was beginning to enjoy the beginning of his bachelor week in Costa Roca when a random accident int he water caused him to snap his collarbone immediately. Poor Sam! He is braving through this latest roadblock though! Pure joy should carry them through on Saturday-

What about these incredible images from their engagement session fromt he reknown Garrett Nudd?!? I hope to look that cute on my BEST day! :)

Garrett and Joy: What easy subjects! I can't wait to see your magic with their wedding images!

Being a part of Brittany and Sam's wedding planning has been an affecting experience that I have the highest anticipation for the actual big day and even higher expectations for their marriage--

Friday's Chic Style Sheet: February 1st

Scenting!

It's my latest event design obsession!

I have had some underlying desires about wanting to "scent" the weddings and events I produce, but adnittedly was not as experienced or informed as I would have liked.

Already slated for a wedding reception we are producing in March, I was hoping to find out first hand how this really worked.

The perfect opportunity presented itself when Rosy, creative director for Damon Tucci Photography and I were speakers at The Special Event Show in Atlanta last month. Our session touched on styling your environment amongst others, and part of styling your environment includes a lot more than the visual.

I became in touch with Scott Roeb at Scent Events regarding our session, "Pillow Talk." He was eager to help us, and what we received (in addition to lovely praise and positive feedback!) was the uplifting scent of fresh, green mango delicately balanced throughout the 1 hour presentation. Maybe Scott will hook me up at home?!? :)

I encourage you to consider this as a design element to your wedding! It is another "layer" to your design that can truly make your fete as disticnt at you are.

Scentevents offers you a fun, environmentally safe and easy to use system to bring that special scent to your event. You may choose from their library of wonderful scents or they can create a custom scent for your particular need. Their variety of Scents is limited only by your imagination.
